We are a Level 1 Trauma Center with exempt employees. Those who live close enough for a 30 min response can take beeper call from home but all others must stay in house. Our annual salary is guaranteed and we do not lose compensation on days when we leave early. We pay extra for call. Mon-Fri the person gets an extra $150 for taking call plus $100 per hour for anything actually worked in the OR beyond 10 hours. On the weekend we split the days into 2, 12 hour shifts. The person gets $125 plus $100 per hour for all time worked. Hope that was helpful
We get 500 per weekend call, from fri at 7p to sun at 2am. If we get called in we r payed regular hourly wage, time and half if past 40hrs.
Do you know if you are exempt or non-exempt? Non exempt would mean time and 1/2 and shift differential?
Thanks
If I was an employee being required to work 10 hrs prior to getting further compensation, this would not be an incentive. I would prefer less to take call, say 100$ and hourly salary every time I’m called in.. To me, the is a win-win for everyone!
In our hospital you only get paid for hours worked. 1st call gets 16hrs during the week, and 2nd call, 8hrs. If you are needed prior to 3PM, they pay your hourly wage. If you work a 12hr shift, you get 12hrs.
1st call is off the following day, and 2nd call comes in and works till 12noon. I do like your suggestion. We don’t make anywhere near $100/hr in Louisiana.
We are exempt employees. We have guaranteed salaries. Call during the week is not paid extra…we get an extra 100 per hour for hours over 40 in a week. First call is off the next day but is on for 24 hours prior and typically works 16 or more. Second call is ” first out” the next day, usually leaves after lunches have been given.
Weekends and holidays are 100 per hour for hours actually worked. Nothing to carry the beeper.
Call is in addition to hours worked (beyond 8 generally). time and a half for any hours worked.
Weekends are paid at time and a half for any hours worked…rounded to hour. (a 2 minute IV starts gets you an hour of pay!)…150/hour.
1st call weekdays come in at 3PM stays the night $500. Next day off. Weekend Friday $600. Saturday & Sundays are 24 hour call with $600 plus $80 /hr anything worked after 1600. Next day off.
2nd call works regular day Mon-Thurs $100, Friday $200 and anything past regular work day is $80hr. Sat-Sund $200 plus $80 time worked. First off the next day.
Our group gets time and a half when we get called in (2 hour minimum).
CRNAs are exempt employees and receive no extra pay for taking call on a 1:3 basis. Pay is guaranteed with no requirement for hours worked. Leave when schedule is done or not even need to come in if no cases scheduled.
Good benefit package including malpractice coverage, 403B match, Federal Employee HealthCare, paid education leave with stipend.
$5/hr to carry the Beeper. If called in, we get time and 1/2 pay with 2hr minimum..
At Kaiser Permanente Sacramento we receive no compensation for call, paid straight time, no time and1/2, regardless of hours worked
We do not have call hours. One 24 hour shift followed by two 8 hour days. This includes weekends as part of the schedule. Many days off. No call approx 6000 cases yr with ob 1000 births 13 CRNA’s
approx $10/hour for call from home, time and a half, 2 hour minimum if called back. If you stay late, no minimum. Kicker here is that they instituted a 9-5:30 shift to avoid paying that one inevitable room that runs over by a couple of hours. VA Med Center.
We are paid on a 24 hour beeper/ call back. No matter what happens we are paid 2000 per day with the next day off. If we have to take weekend call it’s 4500 with the next 7 days off paid.
